Insect damage to spine and edges of front & rear covers. The book is no longer stapled and therefore does not hold together. Rust stains from staples carry through the centre of the book. Contents are good and unmarked. The Spare Corner, begun in 1927 was soon a popular feature for women readers of "The Leader" newspaper. The first booklet of selections from this page of correspondence, advice, recipes, patterns and so on was issued in 1929 and later issued in three parts bound as one, to be followed by a second containing parts four, five and six.
